So VSP, the amazing vision care company, did this amazing survey VSP “Open Talk about Open Enrollment Poll” about how people feel about open enrollment and I would love to share it with you. Why? Because it revealed funny but true results. Raise your hand if you would rather do anything than deal with open enrollment? Now raise your other hand if even more procrastination sets in when it is for vision care?
Why I heart VSP? Their focus is on the health of your eyes. During Open Enrollment, they encourage people to take advantage of the vision care option if they have one, regardless of who the provider is. VSP is the nation’s only not-for-profit vision care company. That makes me trust them way more.
In my home the only person with glasses is my hubby, and honestly I’ve gloated, way more than is polite, that I have good eye sight. Well, until now that is. I’ve been squinting a tad more than a gal should at reading labels. Is it me or have fonts become smaller the past few years? I don’t know whether it has been pride or acknowledging that once a lady reaches 40 some things need to give. Sigh!
Up until now we have not bothered changing the eye care plan we have, but that has got to change. Open enrollment season is here and honestly I would rather wax my eyebrows than deal with it. And if you think waxing my eyebrows seems mild, you have not seen me cry every single time. I’m filled with anxiety and confusion each time we have to deal with open enrollment and by the results of VSP’s survey, it sounds like I’m not the only one. In fact, the only thing that people rated worse than completing open enrollment is cleaning a teenager’s bathroom. That right there is very telling.

I joke each year that my marriage is going to last because we survive tax season. You laugh, but I’m dead serious. Well it might be surprising that VSP’s survey showed that people even preferred tax season to open enrollment!
So while I’m giving myself a nudge to just do my open enrollment, I’m doing the same for you too. How about we make this pact together to get it done now? Like removing a band aid, if we do it fast maybe it won’t hurt!
